Sun Damage & Hyper-Pigmentation Removal
Laser Treatment for UV damaged skin, age spots, and hyper-pigmentation
Schedule Consultation
A combination of lasers can be used to treat sun damage, age spots and hyper-pigmentation on the face and body. The light from the laser is absorbed by the melanin in the skin. Once treated the spot or spots will darken and flake off in 1-3 weeks. Discomfort is brief and tolerable and all skin types can be treated.
Preparation Guidelines for Sun Damage & Hyper-Pigmentation Removal procedure
- No caffeine 4 hours prior to treatment
- Ibuprofen: 800mg (4 tablets) 30 minutes prior to treatment
- No tanning & self sun tanners 1 month prior to treatment
- Come with treatment area clean and no make-up on face
If your sunspots are light in color the best treatment choice may be The Obagi® Nu-Derm skin care system. Proper application of the Nu-Derm products will improve the affected area in a short time.
Melasma, also known as "pregnancy mask" does not respond to VariLite laser treatment so we recommend a TCA Chemical Peel, the best treatment option for this condition.
A complementary consultation with one of our Registered Nurses is the best place to start to help determine which treatment plan is right for you.
