ProFractional Laser Peel

This new technology distributes laser energy deep into the dermis to cause collagen remodeling and stimulate new collagen production. This is a very effective tool to quickly improve wrinkles, scars and skin texture with a short recovery time. This is often used in conjunction with other popular aesthetic procedures.

ProFractional laser treatments provide excellent resurfacing results with minimal downtime. Unlike full field resurfacing which removes the entire surface area of a treatment site, the benefits of ProFractional include increased patient comfort, shorter healing times and tunable results that can range from subtle to dramatic.

ProFractional FAQ

How does the ProFractional work?

The ProFractional laser ablates narrow-diameter channels into the skin, covering a fraction of the total treatment area. This action initiates the body's wound healing response which stimulates fibroblasts to produce new collagen and elastin, while leaving the surrounding tissue intact for rapid healing.

Because only a fraction of your skin is directly treated with the laser, the surrounding untreated tissue promotes rapid healing. This skin s wound healing response creates new collagen which add firmness and resilience to the skin.

What is the primary application of ProFractional treatments?

Based on an assessment of your skin condition and cosmetic goals, Dr. Robinson may choose to use ProFractional whenever a combination of resurfacing with minimal downtime is desired.

How many treatments will I need?

Excellent results can be obtained in just one treatment, though the number of treatments may vary from patient to patient. Dr. Robinson can personalize a plan based on your specific needs and may choose to combine ProFractional therapy with other aesthetic procedures to further personalize your treatment.

Will it be uncomfortable?

ProFractional therapy is widely regarded as a comfortable procudre, usually tolerated with the use of a topical numbing cream or a local anestheitc, depending on the depth of treatment.

What should I expect immediately after the treatment?

Immediately following the procedure you may experience mild to moderate redness and a sensation resembling a sunburn with mild pin point bleeding. You will receive instructions regarding post treatment care depending on the depth of treatment.

How long will it take to recover?

Complete healing will take weeks to months, however most patients usually feel comfortable enough to get back to work and apply makeup a day or two after the treatment. There will likely be some swelling that will subside within several days following the treatment.

What conditions can be treated with the ProFractional Laser?

  • Wrinkles
  • Acne Scars
  • Actinic Keratoses
  • Hypertrophic Scars

When should I expect results?
